The Vitzthum family has defined the image of the Heutaler Hof for more than 50 years. The hotel in Heutal is now being run by the third generation.

We run our family business with a great deal of personal commitment and genuine hospitality. Our guests appreciate the local charm and the personal atmosphere. Our place is quiet and cosy, but above all authentic. We are rooted in nature, local culture and our customs and place great value on preserving them.

The history of the house - the mountain cabin becomes a hotel

In 1962, a local farmer‘s son, Sebastian Vitzthum, marries his ‘Herist Emmi’. She inherits the 400-year-old Herbstgut, a farm estate with property in the Heutal valley. After the construction of the Heutal lifts, it is obvious to the visionary Wast that many people would like to spend more than just a day out in the Heutal. At the end of the 1960s, he put his vision into action and began building the hotel Heutaler Hof.

A bold vision becomes an enduring business

In 1990, his son Manfred takes over the hotel and the associated farm. Together with his wife Regina, he runs the business with a down-to-earth attitude and warmth. The family with the three children Peter, Katharina and Maria became the face of the hotel and still is today. Since 2022, Katharina has been running the business in the third generation with the active support of the family.
